Service Ontario office closed February 2

The St. Marys Service Ontario office will be closed on Friday, February 2, 2024. It will reopen for regular hours on Monday, February 5, 2024.

Patrons can access a range of services online during these closures (www.serviceontario.ca). These services are easy to use and available 24/7.

On Friday, February 23, exhibitors will come together to share artifacts, collections and special projects that celebrate local history. It’s all part of the St. Marys Heritage Fair, an annual event that is hosted by the St. Marys Museum. The event will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Pyramid Recreation Centre (317 James St. S).

Water main break causing water outage on Jones Street West

UPDATE (as of January, 30 at 12:15 p.m.)

The water main has been repaired and water services have been restored.

Residents in the Jones St. W area may notice discolouration due to the break. If you notice any discolouration, run cold water and avoid doing laundry until it runs clear.

Community Housing Consultation coming to St. Marys

UPDATE: The Community Housing Consultation has been rescheduled for March 20, 2024. 

The Town of St. Marys and City of Stratford are joining forces to address an issue that transcends municipal boundaries: housing and homelessness.

Town Council votes in favour of 2024 municipal budget

St. Marys Town Council has thrown its support behind the 2024 municipal budget, voting unanimously in favour at Tuesday night’s meeting.

The budget calls for an additional $827,788 (5.88%) to be raised through property taxes in 2024. When adjusted for growth, this will result in a 4.11% ($141) annual property tax increase for a typical residential property. Water and sewer bills will increase by 2.3% or $21 annually for the average residential household.
