Recreation Attendant

Position Available: Multiple

Closing: April 3, 2023, at 12:30PM

Status: Part-time

Pay Range: $15.50 - $17.76

Hours of Work: Up to 40 hours/week in Summer Season Work

Location: Pyramid Recreation Center

Days of Work: Sunday to Saturday (Monday to Friday in summer season)

 

Responsibilities

Camp/Youth Centre

  • Maintain a welcoming, and inclusive environment for program participants
  • Assist in the effective delivery of the Recreation Services programs
  • Supervise children ages 7 and up during program activities 
  • Help to maintain all necessary paperwork for the day-to-day operation of the program
  • Setup/takedown for programs and ensure cleaning procedures are adhered to
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces for program activities

Canteen

  • Create a positive guest experience through interaction and respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
  • Accept payments and process routine refunds where necessary (Canteen)
  • Open and close canteen – cleaning, locking, etc.
  • Review and write in communication log to support team

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a high energy environment
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends and with minimum supervision
  • Standard First Aid/CPR certification an asset
  • High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development and Safe Food Handling certification an asset
  • At least 15 years old

Supporting a swim lesson class under the direction of an instructor. Aquatic volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age, with current Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid.
