Who to Contact Regarding By-law Questions or Concerns?

Please direct all by-law questions regarding by-laws to the Clerk's Department.  

If you have any concerns regarding by-law enforcement, please report them to the Stratford Police Service NON-EMERGENCY line at 519-271-4141.

Development Charges
The Development Charges by-law allows for the imposition of development charges
Fees
The Fees by-law and its amendment establish fees or charges for services or activities provided by the Town of St. Marys.
Fireworks
The Fireworks by-law regulates the sale and use of fireworks in the Town of St. Marys.
Noise

The Noise by-law regulates and controls noises within the Town of St. Marys.

To file a complaint of a noise violation that is currently taking place, please call the Stratford Police Department at 519-271-4147.

For general inquiries regarding noise matters, please contact the Clerk’s Office at 519-284-2340 x212 or clerks@town.stmarys.on.ca.

Procedure By-law
The Procedure by-law provides for the Rules of Order and Procedure for the Municipal Council of the Town of St. Marys.
Property Standards

The Property Standards by-law prescribes standards for the maintenance and occupancy of property within the Town of St. Marys. The property standards complaint form is used to report violations of St. Marys property standards.

Quarry By-law
Quarry By-Law prohibits and regulates activities at the St. Marys Quarries.
Refreshment Vehicle By-law

The Town of St. Marys has a by-law for the registration and regulation of refreshment vehicles. The Refreshment Vehicle By-law (92-2022) requires owners of a refreshment vehicle to apply for a licence at least 1 month prior to an event. The application to apply is available here.

Sewer

The Sewer by-law regulates the discharge of sewage and storm water and the connections to the public sewers in the Municipality of St. Marys.

Sewer Requirement By-law
The Sewer Requirement by-law requires the connection of buildings in the Town of St. Marys to main sanitary sewers, where available.
Signs
The Sign by-law regulates signs and other advertising devices and the posting of notices on buildings or vacant lots within the Town of St. Marys.
Smoking
The Smoking by-law regulates smoking in public places and workplaces in the Town of St. Marys.
Traffic and Parking
The Traffic and Parking by-law and its amendments 59-2019 and 105-2021 regulate traffic and parking within the limits of the Town of St. Marys.
Waste

The Waste by-law provides and regulates a Waste Management System for the Town of St. Marys.

Water Supply
The Water Supply by-law for the Town of St. Marys regulates and ensures a safe and sustainable water supply.
