Service Ontario to be open Tuesdays and Thursdays only

The St. Marys Service Ontario office – located at 194 Queen St. W - will have new operating hours effective October 31, 2022. Service Ontario will now be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please note these are temporary hours due to staffing shortages.

Patrons can access a range of services online (www.serviceontario.ca). These services are easy to use and available 24/7.

Town hosting Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste Event on October 22

The Town of St. Marys is hosting its next Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste Disposal Day on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Municipal Operations Centre (MOC) located at 408 James Street South (enter off South Service Road). It is open to residents of St. Marys and Perth South.

Items that will be accepted at the disposal event include:

  • Acids, aerosol cans (full), antifreeze
  • Bases, batteries, bleach
  • Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs), fluorescent...

Municipal washroom facilities to be closed for the season

UPDATE: The washrooms at the Lawn Bowling Club/Milt Dunnell Field will remain open until October 31

The Town of St. Marys has begun to winterize its public washroom facilities:

  • Washrooms at Cadzow Park, Kin Pavilion and Teddy’s Field are now closed and all Town-supplied porta potties at municipal parks and facilities have been removed.
  • Washrooms at the Lawn Bowling Club/Milt Dunnell Field will be closed as of October 20.

Firefighter Mark McEwan named Firefighter of the Month for October

This October the St. Marys Fire Department is pleased to announce Mark McEwan as its “Firefighter of the Month”.

McEwan joined the St. Marys Fire Department as a firefighter in 1998. He has had an exciting and fulfilling 24-year career as a firefighter. McEwan is the recipient of the 20-year Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal and in one more year he will receive the 25-year Ontario Fire Services Long Service Medal.
