Town of St. Marys seeking public input on municipal sign by-law

The Town of St. Marys is inviting business and property owners, as well as any interested members of the public, to a Sign By-law Public Meeting on Thursday, June 1 at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium.

The goal of the meeting is to identify challenges to complying with the by-law and discuss how to improve the sign permit application process. Town staff are particularly interested in hearing from businesses and property owners in the downtown, due to feedback received about this area, as well...

The Town of St. Marys currently provides tax relief to property owners in the industrial and commercial property class under the Vacant Unit Rebate and Vacant/Excess Land Tax Reduction Programs. Starting in 2017, the Province is allowing municipal governments the flexibility to revise these programs to best suit local needs or eliminate the programs altogether.

Glass Street extension maintenance underway after heavy rainfall

The Glass Street extension in the Town of St. Marys is currently undergoing maintenance. The street was graded on Monday, May 8 following several days of heavy rainfall.

Additional drainage remediation works are scheduled for later this week. Glass Street will be resurfaced when conditions allow.

Design finalized for new Cadzow Park playground

Work scheduled to begin first week of May

After surveying the public, gathering feedback from elementary school students and receiving Council approval, Town of St. Marys staff have finalized the design for the future Cadzow Park playground.

The forest-themed structure proposed by Playworld – known as Option 1 during the public consultation period - emerged as the preferred design. The design features an accessible saucer swing, climbers, interactive sensory areas, slides and more.
