Town Council is inviting the public to join them for a "Coffee Break" in support of the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Coffee Break is the Alzheimer Society's major nationwide annual fundraiser. Attendees make a small donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in exchange for a friendly cup of coffee.

The Town is encouraging patrons affected by the Aquatics Centre annual maintenance closure to try some of its “land-based” fitness programs. The Aquatics Centre closure will take place from Tuesday, September 5 to Sunday, September 24.

On Thursday, September 7, 2017, arena staff received complaints of an air-quality issue in the Pyramid Recreation Centre.
Upon investigation Town staff detected higher than acceptable levels of Carbon Monoxide (CO) (over 25 parts per million) on the facility’s two ice pads (Rock Rink and Blue Rink). Testing revealed that Zamboni emissions were the source of the CO. The Zamboni has since been repaired and the facility is now safe for public use.

On Thursday, September 7, 2017, arena staff received complaints of an air-quality issue in the Pyramid Recreation Centre.
Arena staff immediately investigated the area. It was determined that the Zamboni may have been emitting unusual levels of Carbon Monoxide. To resolve the issue both rinks were ventilated and the Zamboni was sent for repairs. The Ministry of Labour was also made aware of the situation.
