Municipalities seeking input on how to keep youth in rural communities
As part of the county-wide Perth4Youth project, the Town of St. Marys and Township of Perth South are hosting an Open House & Discussion on Wednesday, March 8, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Pyramid Recreation Centre. Fire Prevention Officer urges residents to install smoke alarms and practice home fire escape plans

In the wake of a fatal fire in Brampton on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, Town of St. Marys Fire Prevention Officer Tammy DeGraw wants to remind the public to make sure that they have working smoke alarms on every storey of their home and outside all sleeping areas, and have practiced a home fire escape plan with everyone in their home.
It has not yet been determined if there were working smoke alarms in the fatal fire in Brampton.

Town pursues alternative options for Yard Waste collection

Residents may have noticed Yard Waste collection dates missing in the most recent Bluewater Recycling Association (BRA) Waste and Recycling calendar.
The dates were not included because the Town has chosen to pursue alternative options for the yard waste pick-up. This decision was made in an effort to improve the service, and based on resident feedback about the frequency and timing of past collections.

The Town of St. Marys wants to hear from you. The municipality is currently in the process of drafting a Recreation and Leisure Services Master Plan and is looking for feedback on the types of facilities, services and programs that are required to meet local needs.
