Water system flushing and valve exercising

The Town of St. Marys will be flushing all water mains and hydrants during the weeks of:

  • April 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • April 24 to 28 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • May 1 to 5 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Town of St. Marys will also be undertaking a valve exercising program during the above dates and times for all areas north of Trout Creek. The valve turning program is being completed to help ensure ongoing system functionality.

Town introducing enhanced leaf and yard waste collection

Leaf and yard waste to be collected every other Monday starting May 15 

The Town of St. Marys is making changes to curbside leaf and yard waste collection. Under the new program, leaf and yard waste will be picked up every other Monday from mid-May to mid-November. Collection dates will also fall on recycling weeks to make it easier for residents to remember the schedule.

St. Marys Museum seminar examines abandoned railway stations

Update: Due to high demand, this seminar has been moved to the St. Marys Friendship Centre (Multi-purpose Room), located at 317 James St S, St. Marys. 

Abandoned railway buildings and ways to reincorporate them into the community will be the topic of the next seminar at the St. Marys Museum. Heritage professional Laurence Grant will lead the seminar, which is happening on Thursday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Downtown traffic lights will be tested

Date of disruption
Thursday, April 6

Intersections on Queen, Church, Wellington and Water Streets

8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Additional information
Crews will complete annual timing and phasing tests of the traffic lights.
Ontario Provincial Police will be on site directing traffic manually during the test.
