Planning a backyard campfire or other type of open fire?

By-Law Number 17 of 2012 stipulates that a permit is required for any open fires within the Town of St. Marys.  Anyone contravening the by-law could be convicted and liable to the penalties set out in the Provincial Offences Act.

Getting a permit

  • Open Fire Permits Cost: $25
  • Duration:  Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 (during the calendar year it is issued)

Roaring Twenties Garden Party returns to the St. Marys Museum

The St. Marys Museum is stepping into the past for its fourth annual Roaring Twenties Garden Party. The event is happening on Sunday, July 10 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., on the heels of the Stonetown Heritage Festival. Local band, The Halftones, will provide live musical entertainment at 1:00 p.m. on the Museum’s picturesque front porch.

Impromptu illusions, mini-busker shows and interactive storytelling will overtake Queen Street on Saturday, July 9 as St. Marys celebrates the 21st annual Stonetown Heritage Festival.
