Town reminding residents of snowmobile and ATV by-laws

With snowmobiling being a very popular activity with the current conditions, the Town of St. Marys is reminding residents of the by-laws regarding operating motorized snow and other all-terrain vehicles. Failing to adhere to these laws could result in damage to property, fines, injury or even death.

Motorized snow vehicles must NOT be operated:

  • Along sidewalks or boulevards (grass between the sidewalk and street).
  • On trails (Grand Trunk Trail, The Loop, Riverview Walkway, Taylor Trail and Avon...

Scavenger hunt a unique way to learn local history

Funds used to purchase tools and commemorative plaques.

The St. Marys Fire Department has the ability to add new equipment and a St. Marys Fire Department Wall of Fame to the new fire hall. It’s all thanks to a $7,500 donation from the St. Marys Lions Club, which was presented to Fire Chief Richard “Andy” Anderson on Friday, February 19, 2021.

The funds from the Lions Club are going to be used to purchase much needed equipment and tools that were not part of the new fire hall contingency plan....

St. Marys firefighters said goodbye to their old home and officially moved into the bright, new hall on James Street South on Saturday, February 13, 2021. 

“All the firefighters are ecstatic about the move,” said Fire Chief Richard “Andy” Anderson. “We are all anxious to show it off to the public when it is safe to do so. This is very much a blessing, we are very grateful to have it along with all of its new amenities. It’s absolutely mind-blowing,”

Town shares service changes for operating under Orange (Restrict) level

Effective February 16, 2021, the Town of St. Marys will move to the Orange (Restrict) level of the Province’s Keeping Ontario Safe & Open Framework. 

Residents are reminded that this is a return to the Framework (not a re-opening) and to continue to follow all health and safety recommendations. The Town is currently following a cautiously strategic approach to offering more services, these are subject to change based on ongoing recommendations from Huron Perth Public Health.
