Town shares service changes for operating under Provincewide Shutdown.

The Town of St. Marys will move to the Provincewide Shutdown effective 12:01 a.m. on December 26, 2020.  The following outlines changes and additional public health measures for Town services and programs.

Municipal Operations Centre and Town Hall

The service counter at the Municipal Operations Centre and Town Hall will be closed for drop-ins. Both locations will be open for pre-arranged appointments and drop-box services only, the completion of a COVID-19 screening form will be required before entering any Town facility. Many services are available online, please access them on their website, for more information on specific services please contact them.

Pyramid Recreation Centre

The Pyramid Recreation Centre will be closed for all programs (including day camps), activities, and events, with the exception of the Friendship Centre and Community Centre for social services including Wellness Programs and Health Services. Anyone who is currently signed up for a program that is affected by these changes will be contacted directly.

Aquatics Centre

The pool will be closed. Any users of programs that are affected by these changes will be contacted directly.

Friendship Centre

The Friendship Centre will be open only for Community Wellness Programs such as meal delivery, social connection calls and shopping support.  Health Specific Services such as Footcare and Blood Pressure Screening will also continue. Those coming to the PRC for Friendship Centre programs must use the Friendship Centre entrance. Huron-Perth residents and regular users can register online (www.townofstmarys.com/registeronline) or by calling 519-284-3272.  Any users of programs that are affected by these changes will be notified directly.

St. Marys Child Care Centre

Day care will remain open, however before and after school programs are closed until further notice.  Staff can be contacted at 519-284-3121 for more information.

St. Marys Public library

The library will be closed but will continue to offer the contactless curbside pick-up and drop-off programs accessible at the Queen Street entrance only. Contact information will be required for tracing purposes.  Increased quarantine measures will be in effect for returned materials.

Playgrounds

All municipal playgrounds will remain open on a “use at your own risk” basis. Residents are reminded to avoid using playgrounds if they are feeling sick, to wash their hands before and after using playgrounds, and to practice physical distancing while using playgrounds.

St. Marys Museum

The museum will be closed.

St. Marys VIA Rail station

The St. Marys VIA Rail station will be closed.

Landfill

The landfill will be open for holiday hours and resume regular hours of operation starting January 4, 2021. Payments must be made through debit or credit cards as cash will not be accepted.

Yard Waste Depot

The Yard Waste Depot will remain open. Christmas trees may be disposed of there until January 9, 2021. After that residents may take them to the landfill.
