UPDATE: The survey for the proposed renaming of the Wellington Street Bridge is now closed. Thank you for your input!

The Town of St. Marys is seeking the public’s feedback on a proposal to rename the Wellington Street Bridge.

At a Council meeting on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, Councillor Don Van Galen recommended the structure be renamed the Elizabeth Bridge in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. The bridge is currently undergoing a complete replacement and could potentially be given a new name when it is re-opened for use this fall.

Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts on renaming the Wellington Street Bridge by taking part in a short survey, running from Wednesday, August 2 to Wednesday, August 9. The survey is available online and in print at Town facilities and two downtown businesses: The Flower Shop and More and Village Craft and Candle.

The input gathered through the survey will be presented to Council for consideration at their meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
