Following the loss of the area’s only taxi company, the Town of St. Marys is reminding residents of alternative public transportation options.

St. Marys & Area Mobility Services

St. Marys & Area Mobility Services offers accessible transportation for people living in St. Marys, Perth South, and the northern areas of Zorra and Thames Centre. Services are available for seniors, individuals recovering from illness or injury and those with varying abilities.

Door-to-door service is available seven days a week and must be booked at least one day in advance. Booking hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Rides within St. Marys cost $5 one way; out of town trips are billed by the kilometer. Charges for wait time may apply.

Perth County Connect

PC Connect is a public transit service that provides transportation throughout Perth County, Stratford, St. Marys, Kitchener/Waterloo and London. PC Connect provides affordable, accessible bus service on weekdays and Saturdays and provides connections to other services such as GO Transit.

Riders can catch PC Connect in St. Marys at Town Hall (175 Queen St. E) and St. Marys Memorial Hospital (267 Queen St. W). There are three routes that serve St. Marys: Route B, Route 2, and Route 3. Route B stops in Kirkton, Mitchell, and Stratford; Route 2 stops in Stratford, Shakespeare, New Hamburg, Waterloo, and Kitchener; Route 3 stops in Stratford and London.

Costs to ride PC Connect vary by route and age group. Route B is $6 for adults, $5 for students and seniors 60+; Routes 2 and 3 are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors 60+. Veterans, support persons and children five and under ride free.

Users can pre-book a ride online at ride.blaisetransit.com, through the Blaise Transit app or by calling 1-888-465-0783. Riders using cash are asked to arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes early with exact change.

VIA Rail/GO Transit

Residents and visitors can access VIA Rail and Go Transit services at the St. Marys Train Station, located at 5 James St. N.

VIA train service runs daily at 10:46 a.m. and 8:20 p.m. GO Train service runs on weekdays at 6:13 a.m. (eastbound) and 7:27 p.m. (westbound).

VIA and GO passengers are encouraged to purchase tickets online or at the self-service computer located in the train station. A customer service attendant is available to assist and print tickets for passengers during the hours listed below.  

Monday to Friday

  • 5:45 – 6:45 a.m. (GO travel)
  • 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. (VIA travel)
  • 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. (GO and VIA travel)

Saturday and Sunday

  • 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. (VIA travel only)
  • 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. (VIA travel only)
