Additional information

The design for the new Wellington Street Bridge was determined through an extensive consultation process that began in 2016. Four design concepts were presented through a public open house and an online survey. The concepts were also vetted through the St. Marys Heritage Committee and the Accessibility Advisory Committee before being approved by Town Council.

The new bridge will feature decoractive street lights that pay homage to the structure’s original design and improve visibility for pedestrian safety. It will also have widened sidewalks to enhance pedestrian comfort and accessibility. In addition, a new watermain will be installed under the bridge deck to improve flow and provide redundancy of the water system serving the North Ward.
