Public meeting planned for Tuesday, October 10

The Town of St. Marys is conducting a review and update of its Official Plan and is asking members of the public to participate in the process.

The Official Plan is a document that outlines goals, objectives and policies that are intended to guide future land use, development and growth in the Town of St. Marys. The Town is undertaking the update to comply with Ontario's Planning Act, which requires municipalities to conduct an Official Plan review every five years.

Residents are encouraged to provide input throughout the process to ensure that the updated Official Plan reflects the community’s priorities. Those interested in getting involved can attend a public meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 6:00 pm in Town Hall Council Chambers. The meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the project and to speak with Council about the Official Plan review project.

Residents who are unable to attend the meeting can provide written comments to Brent Kittmer, Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk by mail (175 Queen Street East, PO Box 998, St. Marys, ON N4X 1B6), fax (519-284-3881) or email (bkittmer@town.stmarys.on.ca).

Additional information and resources related to the Official Plan review are available at www.townofstmarys.com. A series of discussion papers, staff reports and newsletters will be added to the page as the Town moves through the review process.
