The Town of St. Marys is encouraging charitable, non-profit and volunteer organizations, sports groups and service clubs to apply to its Community Grant Program. Eligible applicants could receive up to $5,000 cash or $2,000 of in-kind funding for their project, event, or initiative.

Past grant recipients have included St. Marys Community Dinners, the Kinsmen Club of St. Marys, the Thames River Clean Up, the St. Marys Curling Club, the Piecemaker Quilt Show, and many others.

Interested applicants should review the Town’s Community Grant Policy and application form at www.townofstmarys.com/grants. Eligible projects must support one of the following pillars of the Town’s Strategic Plan: culture and recreation, balanced growth, economic development, and housing.

Applicants must be located in or provide services to the St. Marys community. External applicants will only be considered if they can clearly show that any funding received will have a direct, positive impact on St. Marys. All applicants are required to demonstrate financial need and proof that other funding sources have been considered.

The deadline to apply is November 30, 2023. Council will make all funding decisions after the 2024 budget process. Decisions will be made based on local needs and priorities, the Town’s strategic goals and the approved municipal budget.

Organizations that receive funding in 2023 are reminded to submit the required documents for the 2023 grant when submitting their application for 2024.

Questions and/or completed applications should be directed to Denise Feeney, Deputy Treasurer, at 519-284-2340, ext. 238 or dfeeney@town.stmarys.on.ca.
