An additional means for residents to help flatten the curve

Spring cleaning and pandemic restlessness may have created an “urge to purge” but until social distancing restrictions are lifted, yard sales will not be an option.

At its regular meeting on Tuesday, Apr. 28, Town Council approved a ban on yard sales, as they run contrary to the current provincial emergency orders banning public gatherings of five or more people and non-essential work. Stratford Police Service was consulted in the staff recommendation on the ban.

“Council continues to follow the directive of Huron Perth Public Health to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve,” Mayor Al Strathdee says. “Public safety is our number-one priority.”
