Town advising residents of possible Canada Post strike

Contact Us

The Town of St. Marys is making residents aware of a possible strike by Canada Post plant workers and mail carriers.

In the event of a strike, the delivery of important documents from the Town of St. Marys could be delayed, including tax bills and accounts receivable bills from the landfill, Child Care Centre and Pyramid Recreation Centre.

Although residents may not receive mail during a strike, they are still required to make bill payments. Payments made by mail during a strike may not be delivered and could arrive late, resulting in a penalty. The Town of St. Marys offers a number of convenient, alternative payment options, including:

  • Pre-authorized payments
  • Telephone and internet banking services (offered by your bank)
  • In person payments at your bank (taxes only)
  • Bill payment drop box (located at Town Hall, 175 Queen Street East)
  • In-person payments at the Municipal Operations Centre (408 James Street South), Pyramid Recreation Centre (317 James Street South) or Town Hall (175 Queen Street East)

Further details about payments options can be found at www.townofstmarys.com.

Questions or request for additional information, including bill amounts, can be directed to the Finance Department at 519-284-2340 ext. 239.
