Town advises residents of changes to Pet Licencing Program

The Town of St. Marys has shifted its pet licencing registration to a convenient online form making it safer and easier for residents to obtain a pet licence.

Several area residents have taken advantage of their increased time at home to introduce a furry friend to their household. If you have a new pet, or one that has been part of your family for years, be sure to visit the Town’s website to obtain a pet tag.

By registering your pet, you are helping to ensure that they are returned promptly should they ever get loose and be picked up by Animal Control. Registration fees also help maintain the dog park in St. Marys.

“We want to ensure our residents are still able to safely obtain their pet licences. Residents can now complete the entire registration and payment process online.” Says Jenna McCartney, Clerk for Town of St. Marys. “Special arrangements can be made for the tags to be mailed, or they can be picked up at Town Hall.”

Beginning this year, physical tags will be valid for the entire life of your pet. Annual registration fees will still be required per the by-law 39 of 2008. Pet tags are $20 per year per dog or cat, until March 31, when they will increase to $30 per tag.

Visit the Town of St. Marys website for more information and to register for a pet licence.
