Temporary signal light in place at Wellington and Queen St. intersection

Contact Us

Please be advised that a temporary traffic light is currently in place on the south side of the intersection of Wellington St. S and Queen St. E.

The permanent signal light and pedestrian signal post were damaged during an accident in November 2023. Replacement posts have been ordered and are expected to be installed in May 2024.

Pedestrians crossing at this intersection should use extra caution. The traffic light on the east side of the intersection will still show pedestrians when it is safe to cross the street, but it will not play the homing sounds that notify individuals with vision issues. These sounds are activated by the pedestrian signal post that is being replaced.

The homing sounds are working at the intersection of Wellington St. N and Queen St. E. Those who require the homing sounds to cross safely are encouraged to use this intersection as an alternative until the new posts arrive.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
