If you haven’t been into the Library in a while, it may be time to check out (pun intended) what’s new!

The Library is expanding its collections offerings once again! Starting February 1, patrons will be able to borrow Nintendo Switch games from the Library. The games are available as part of the Library’s media collection that includes video games for all consoles, new release movies and tv series, magazines, audio-books and more.

"We’re so excited to be able to expand our media collection to include Switch Games, especially with the increasing popularity of the console. We hope that by providing the games, we can alleviate some of the costs that are associated with owning the Switch, as the games are often very expensive," the Library’s Acquisition and Cataloguing Clerk, Kate Long, says.

Users are able to place holds on the games, as well as all other items in the Library’s collection, using their online Library accounts. Games will go out for a period of one week and renewals will not be allowed in order to ensure fair access for all patrons.

"Now is the time to come in to the Library and see what’s new! We have so many things to share; from upgrades to the building and brand-new programs to collection developments. We encourage everyone to keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on all the exciting news that’s coming up," Rebecca Webb, Library Services Coordinator, says.

You can find the Switch games in the Library's media room and you can follow the Library on Facebook at www.facebook.com/stmaryspubliclibrary.
