St. Marys Fire Department receives generous donation from the St. Marys Lions Club

Funds used to purchase tools and commemorative plaques.

The St. Marys Fire Department has the ability to add new equipment and a St. Marys Fire Department Wall of Fame to the new fire hall. It’s all thanks to a $7,500 donation from the St. Marys Lions Club, which was presented to Fire Chief Richard “Andy” Anderson on Friday, February 19, 2021.

The funds from the Lions Club are going to be used to purchase much needed equipment and tools that were not part of the new fire hall contingency plan. “We will be purchasing tools that are necessary to repair and maintain our equipment,” says Deputy Fire Chief Brent Dundas. “This generous donation will also go towards the purchase of a pressure washer, shop vacuum and hose washer.”  

Fire Chief Richard “Andy” Anderson, in collaboration with the St Marys Lions Club have also ordered special plaques to create a St. Marys Fire Department Wall of Fame. “These plaques will be proudly displayed in the front foyer of the fire hall and will introduce our brave team to anyone who visits the station,” said Anderson. “The custom-made plaques are personalized to include each member’s name, photo, position, years of service and the St. Marys Fire Department logo.”

The St. Marys Fire Department would like to thank the St. Marys Lions Club for their generous financial contribution and support of our firefighters with the purchasing of equipment and staff plaques. This would not be possible without the gift of our valued community partners.
