The St. Marys Museum is stepping into the past for its fourth annual Roaring Twenties Garden Party. The event is happening on Sunday, July 10 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., on the heels of the Stonetown Heritage Festival. Local band, The Halftones, will provide live musical entertainment at 1:00 p.m. on the Museum’s picturesque front porch.

The afternoon event will feature 1920s themed crafts for children and garden games such as bocce and croquet on the front lawn. 1920s dance lessons will be offered throughout the day, giving attendees a chance to kick up their heels as they learn the Charleston. The event is also an excellent opportunity to explore the Museum’s Little Black Dress exhibit, which features a number of 1920s dresses.

Picnic lunches are available to pre-order from the Cheese Shoppe; each lunch includes a sandwich, side, dessert and drink. Those who wish to pre-order a picnic lunch should pick up a form from the Museum or Cheese Shoppe and return it, along with payment, by Wednesday, July 6 at 4:30 p.m. Picnic lunches cost $10, with proceeds going to the St. Marys Museum.

The event will run regardless of the weather. Residents and visitors are encouraged to dress in their 1920s best for this nostalgic summer celebration. For additional information, contact the Museum at 519-284-3556 or museum@town.stmarys.on.ca.
