Survey follows successful open house at 14 Church St. N

This Saturday, nearly 300 St. Marys residents braved the cold to explore the historic halls of 14 Church St. N. The public was invited to visit the former Mercury Theatre building as part of an open house for the Town’s Downtown Service Location Review.

The review is being done to determine the best use of 14 Church St. N and the Town’s other downtown service locations: Town Hall, the St. Marys Public Library, and the St. Marys Train Station.

The Town is now running a survey to dig deeper into the thoughtful ideas and suggestions that were shared at the open house. The survey can be completed online at www.townofstmarys.com/dslrsurvey; hard copies are available at all Town facilities.

“We were absolutely blown away by the attendance at Saturday’s open house,” says St. Marys Mayor Al Strathdee. “Our residents clearly have a deep emotional attachment to the building. We hope they will channel that passion into providing meaningful input through our survey.”

He continues: “The feedback we gather now will help make us make practical, community-minded decisions about how we use our downtown facilities in the future.”

The survey is open until April 22, 2023. Completed copies of the paper survey can be submitted at Town facilities or by mail (Town of St. Marys, P.O Box 998, St. Marys, ON. N4X 1B6).
