More vendors, more food and more fun happening July 14 to 16

The countdown is on for this year’s Stonetown Heritage Festival, taking place July 14 to 16 – and there’s many ways to participate in making the festival the best yet!

“We’re preparing for a festival that will truly be bigger than ever,” says Town of St. Marys Events Coordinator Alanna Bowes. “The Saturday of the festival will cover more of the downtown than in years past, with activities for all ages.”

This year, attendees can enjoy an art walk on the Riverview Walkway, more food, more vendors and a designated Kids Zone in addition to all the traditional Heritage Festival favourites.

There are also many opportunities for local businesses and artists to showcase their products. All application forms, as well as general festival information, can be found at www.discoverstmarys.ca/festival, the one-stop source for Heritage Festival information!

During the Saturday of the festival, a vendor marketplace will run down the center of Queen St. from Church to Water, as well on Water St. S toward Jones St. E. Local vendors are welcome to showcase and sell products, especially artisans and craftspeople! Community organizations that serve St. Marys are also welcome to participate. Application forms are available on the website

New this year, the Riverview Walkway from Queen St. toward Park St. will come alive on Saturday with an open-air art show, sale and demonstrations. Many artists have been confirmed but there is still room for additional artists to book a free space. Apply today by via the website

Food has always been a key part of the Heritage Festival, and this year there will be more delicious options than ever! Food trucks and local businesses can apply online to be part of Saturday’s Food Zone in the downtown. Thanks to the generosity of the Downtown St. Marys BIA, the event will also feature shaded seating in a refreshment tent to enjoy your meal or cool down!

Saturday evening starting at 5 p.m., there will be food truck offerings at Milt Dunnell Field to enjoy during an evening concert and the dazzling Rotary Fireworks at dusk.

Food vendors can find application forms for both events at www.discoverstmarys.ca/festival.

There are other ways for the community to get involved in the festival in addition to these vendor opportunities. Financial sponsors help support bringing entertainment to the festival; if you’ve not received a sponsorship package, please contact Bowes at abowes@town.stmarys.on.ca. Day-of volunteers help bring the festival to life and hours are eligible for high school requirements; volunteer forms are also available on the website.
