This year's Stonetown Heritage Festival promises a Saturday filled with a diverse range of live entertainment options, with many acts making their debut at the festival!
“We are thrilled to showcase fresh performances and local talent at the festival this year, appealing to a wide range of ages and interests,” says Town of St. Marys Events Coordinator Alanna Bowes. “Saturday’s lineup will surely be a standout feature.”
The intersection of Queen and Water Streets will feature demonstrations and performances throughout the day from Bex in Motion, a hula hoop and comedy artist, plus, a strolling stilt walker, thanks to the generosity of McLean Taylor Construction Ltd.
There will also be local performances throughout the day from various entertainers, including Community Players and young musicians from The World’s Coolest Music Store.
In addition to these feature performers, youngsters can enjoy a downtown Kids Zone. This area will include inflatables, face painting, activities from the Town of St. Marys EarlyON Centre, the St. Marys Museum, and the St. Marys Public Library.
Be sure to stop by Milt Dunnell Field to check out the St. Marys Farmers’ Market between 8:00 a.m. and noon for a wide range of local produce and fresh foods brought to you by local farmers, as well as craft products created by members of the community.
Downtown will be the place to be the Saturday evening of the festival, as a concert featuring wonderful local acts takes the stage. Frank St. Germain and Friends (rock band) will kick-off the show, followed by Johnny & Stacey (duo), York Street Thought Process (indie folk duo), and Sweetwood Mac (Fleetwood Mac cover band) will perform as the sun sets.
Following tradition, the Rotary Fireworks will light up the sky around dusk (approximately 10:00 p.m.). The fireworks will be set off from the Grand Trunk trestle, and St. Marys Rotarians will be present in the area with donation buckets to help support the display expenses.

CN Rail is requiring the Town to temporarily close three railway crossings to carry out necessary rail repairs. The railway crossings will be closed starting Tuesday, April 22 at 6:00 a.m. The work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. Required repairs include the replacement of damaged rail and track ties, replacement of track ballast, and installation of planking on railway crossings at the following locations:
A detour will be set up along Huron St. S. and Elizabeth St., as well as along King St. with signage in place to guide vehicles. Travelers are advised to expect delays during the temporary closure and to plan accordingly.
VIA rail will not be impacted by the temporary closures, but it may cause some delays due to reduced track speeds in the area.
For a more information and a detailed map or the closure and detour routes, read our full media release.
The Pyramid Recreation Centre pool is undergoing significant upgrades. The Aquatics Centre has been closed to the public since November 11, 2024, to accommodate renovations to the space. The project involves installing a new HVAC unit and exhaust systems to improve air quality. Repairs are also being made to any parts of the Aquatics Centre that have experienced wear and tear.
Due to unexpected construction delays and supply chain issues, the renovation work is now expected to extend the closure until July 2025.
