In an effort to celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality, the Friendship Centre at the Pyramid Recreation Centre will host its third annual International Women’s Day event on Friday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m.

The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2020 is #EachforEqual. The campaign believes that an equal world is an enabled world and that individually, everyone is responsible for their own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. The campaign challenges you to actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements, in the hope that collectively, we can help create a gender equal world.

The keynote speaker for the Friendship Centre’s International Women’s Day event is Rosemary Redshaw, Ordained Chaplain. Redshaw was a prison chaplain for 27 years in the provincial and federal prison systems and just finished five years as the Executive Director of New Life Prison Ministries working with offenders and sex offenders upon release. She is ordained in the Church of the Nazarene.

Admission will be by donation. Those wishing to attend should call 519-284-3272 to pre-register.
