This year’s Small Town March Madness broadcast comes to Cadzow Park

It may be a repeat win for St. Marys but our community’s second FM96 Small Town March Madness victory broadcast won’t be a repeat performance.

In April, residents and fans of our fair town rallied to again take the crown of best small town in the London-based radio station’s listening area, this time edging out Mt. Brydges in a hard-fought final round.

To celebrate our latest victory, the Taz Show will once again broadcast live from St. Marys, this year on Friday, May 31.

“Last year, we took our victory to the street,” says Mayor Al Strathdee of the downtown breakfast broadcast. “This time around, we’re going to play at Cadzow Park!”

Everyone is invited to the beloved park to participate in the broadcast, which is live from 5:30 to 9:30 a.m. Complimentary breakfast beverages will be served while supplies last (please bring reusable beverage holders to cut down on waste) and the Rotary splash pad will be turned on extra early that morning in the event of summery weather.

“Our community is so great to rally two years in a row to win,” adds Strathdee. “We really are the best small town… if not in FM96’s listening area, then in Canada!”

As with last year’s broadcast, expect a few surprises and many opportunities to get on-air and share why you think St. Marys is the best small town around. You can also expect to see Taz, his co-host Jim, and the FM96 morning show crew in town prior to the broadcast, soaking up local culture and taping segments for this special show.

“One year could have been a fluke, but winning two years in a row truly means that St. Marys is the greatest small town in the FM96 listening area,” say Taz and Jim. “We fell in love with the town and its people last year and we can’t wait to come back for a broadcast, party with old friends and see all the ways St. Marys has – or hopefully has not – changed since last year!”
