Flood watch remains in effect

A flood warning that was issued by the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 has been lifted. St. Marys is now under a flood watch only.

In a media release sent out yesterday, UTRCA noted that water levels are dropping in rivers and streams in the Upper Thames watershed. However, flood plains and low lying areas can still be dangerous. Residents are reminded to be cautious around watercourses and avoid flooded areas.

Further updates about the situation will be provided through the Town’s website (townofstmarys.com), Facebook page (facebook.com/stmarysontario) and Twitter account (twitter.com/townofstmarys) as they become available. Questions or concerns can be directed to the Town’s Public Works Department at 519-284-2340, ext. 213 during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or 1-866-750-8220 after hours.
