The St. Marys Museum (177 Church St. S) is celebrating the change in seasons and the start of summer weekend hours with its Summer Open House on Sunday, June 1 from 12:00 to 4:00p.m. This event highlights the seasonal exhibits on display at the Museum and includes a range of activities that will appeal to visitors of all ages.
The museum has several new exhibits on display covering a range of topics, from local photographers, medical instruments, and animals. The Museum’s partnership exhibit with the Rotary Club of St. Marys, Service Above Self: 100 Years of Rotary in St. Marys, will officially open on Sunday, June 1.
“We’re thrilled to be able to display photographs and artifacts from the Rotary Club of St. Marys,” says St. Marys Museum Assistant Curator Emily Taylor. “This is a way to celebrate the long history of this organization and explore how Rotary initiatives have impacted the wider community.”
During the Summer Open House, visitors can participate in a scavenger hunt to explore the new objects on display at the Museum. Other activities include hands-on toys in the discovery school room and button making in the archives. Light refreshments will also be served.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Summer Open House and admission is free. Summer hours at the Museum are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekends.
