All invited to ribbon-cutting of Lions pavilion, Rotary splash pad

Since early spring, St. Marys residents have been patiently awaiting the construction of the Rotary Splash pad, Lions pavilion and performing arts stage in Cadzow Park.

The wait is almost over! On Thursday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m., everyone is invited to join in the grand opening of these new additions to the beloved park.

In addition to ribbon-cutting ceremonies, families can try out the new splash pad and enjoy a freezie as an end-of-school year treat. Live music featuring performers from the upcoming “Melodies at the Museum” concert series will round out a fun evening in the revitalized park.

“We know how much the community loves Cadzow Park,” says Director of Building and Development Grant Brouwer. “It was exciting to work on the project, and we’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to the park so it can be enjoyed all summer long.”

Those attending the celebration are encouraged to park on Tracy Street as the parking lot at Cadzow may still be under construction.

Come autumn, work will begin on other features, including surfacing the parking lot, and installation of a water fountain and bike rack. Grass growth will be nurtured throughout the summer. Hard-surface pathways will be constructed in 2019.
