Church Street North entrance of Library to be temporarily closed

Starting Thursday, October 20, the Church Street North entrance of the St. Marys Public Library will be temporarily closed to accommodate refurbishing work being completed on the Church Street North door. This entrance will be closed for approximately two weeks. The library will remain open for regular hours of operation. All staff and patrons are being asked to use the Queen Street East entrance during this time.

Local author hosting two talks about time as Royal Family nanny

Residents will have two opportunities to go beyond the walls of Buckingham Palace this month as local author Jean Alice Rowcliffe shares tales of her time as a nanny to the Royal Family.

Rowcliffe’s first speaking engagement is happening on Thursday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium. The event is being hosted by the St. Marys Public Library as part of its Living Library series, in celebration of Ontario Public Library Week.

Museum’s popular seminar series returns this October

After a two-year hiatus, the popular St. Marys Museum seminar series returns this fall with two engaging evening presentations.

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., Dayna Prest will discuss LGBTQ+ history and sense of place in the area around St. Marys. The seminar coincides with LGBTQ+ History Month in Canada, an ideal time to learn more about these important stories in our community.

Town Hall and nearby sidewalk to be closed morning of October 4

Disruption

On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, a contractor will be conducting a drone survey on the roof of Town Hall in preparation for upcoming repairs.

For the safety of pedestrians, portions of the sidewalk will be closed while the survey is being done.

The closure will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will include the section of sidewalk between the cenotaph and the Queen St./Church St. intersection. 

Once the work is complete in that area, the closure will move to the sidewalk between the Queen St./Church...

Brock Street South to be closed for construction

Please note that Brock Street South will be closed from Queen Street East to Jones Street East from September 28 at 7:00 a.m. to September 30 at 5:00 p.m. for construction.
