Shopping Assistance

The St. Marys Friendship Centre offers shopping services that encourage independence and increase access for those who find it difficult to get out of the home. 


Volunteer transport 

Volunteers transport and offer support for community members who are no longer able to complete in-town grocery shopping and errands independently. 

Fee: $10 base rate with an extra dollar charged for each stop the volunteer makes 


Grocery delivery

Seniors, people recovering from illness or injury or living with chronic conditions who live in the Town of St. Marys can order and have their groceries to be delivered to their home with the help of the Town of St. Marys Senior Services department.

To register for this program, simply call the Friendship Centre at 519-284-3272 to complete an intake. Advance notice of up to 24 hours is required for grocery delivery, however accommodations can be made for special circumstances. The standard day for grocery delivery is Tuesday between the hours form 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Pick up is available from both local grocery stores. Accommodations for alternative delivery are available upon volunteer availability.
