Aquatics Centre currently closed for renovations

The Aquatics Centre has been closed to the public since November 2024, to accommodate renovations to the space that would address safety concerns caused by saltwater and high humidity. These renovations were deemed essential to ensure the facility could be used safely and effectively by the community. Due to unexpected recently discovered structural issues caused by saltwater and high humidity stemming from insufficiently sized HVAC equipment installed during the original construction, the renovation work is now expected to extend closure until fall 2025. 

Project updates and a reopening date, once confirmed, will be provided through local media, the Town website (www.townofstmarys.com), Facebook (www.facebook.com/stmarysontario) and Twitter/X (www.twitter.com/townofstmarys).

Makerspace

The St. Marys Public Library is proud to offer a MakerSpace to our community members. 

Due to space constraints, our MakerSpace operates as a mobile station where members of the community can tinker, create and make by booking appointments to use the equipment. We welcome everyone to the MakerSpace.

You can request an appointment to use the equipment listed below or learn more about the MakerSpace and the resources offered. You can also submit a file for the 3D Printer. Come create with us!

3D Printer: Flashforge Guider IIs

Get creative with our 3D Printer. Create your very own 3D creations with the help of Library staff. If you have a project in mind, fill out the 3D Print Submission form. This printer has a build volume size of 280 x 250 x 300 mm (11 x 9.85 x 11.8 in).
If your simply interested in learning more about 3D printing, feel free to request a MakerSpace appointment. 

The Library has a selection of PLA filament in a variety of colours to choose from.

Heat Press Use our cutter to design and cut out your design and then press it on to a T-Shirt! This heat press creates retail quality apparel. The Library has a large selection of heat transfer vinyl in various colours. Heat Transfer Vinyl (6”x15”): $4.00
 2" Button Maker Design and create your very own buttons! We recommend using this website to create your button design: https://designer.buttonmakers.net/ Button (cost of materials for one button): $0.25
Sewing Machine: Janome Skyline S3 & Serger The Library is proud to have added two sewing machines and a serger to our MakerSpace resources. Patrons are responsible for bringing their own materials and sewing machine accessories. Basics are provided. There is no cost to use these machines as consumables are not provided.
