Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest
All members of Council, local boards, and committees are required to act honestly and responsibly when making decisions or providing advice on Council, board, or committee matters. This responsibility includes disclosing any pecuniary interest.
A pecuniary interest occurs when a member has a direct or indirect conflict related to an item under consideration. Further details about direct and indirect pecuniary interests are outlined in the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.
It is the responsibility of each member to determine if they are affected by the pecuniary interest provisions. Members must submit written disclosures of pecuniary interest to the Clerk immediately after the meeting at which they verbally disclose the interest, using the Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest Form.
