The St. Marys Business Improvement Area (BIA) provides leadership on projects that beautify and promote St. Marys' downtown as a unique and vibrant entertainment, social, cultural and economically viable business centre.

Members of boards and committees provide input to assist Council in making decisions about municipal matters. See below for a list of the Town's advisory boards and committees, their eligibility requirements and terms of reference.
Business Improvement Area (BIA)
The Committee of Adjustment considers applications for minor variances from the Zoning By-law, applications for land division (consent to sever land) and variances to the fence by-law and any other specified by Council that implements the Official Plan.

Community Policing Advisory Committee
The Community Policing Advisory Committee advises and assists Council and the residents of St. Marys on matters related to community policing.
Downtown Service Location Review Committee
The Downtown Service Location Review Committee will advise and assist Council on matters specifically relating to the master planning process for organizing Town services and programs at each of the following municipal facilities:
- Town Hall (lower level and auditorium)
- St. Marys Public Library
- Train Station
- 14 Church Street North
Downtown Service Location Review Committee Terms of Reference
The Green Advisory Committee is committed to educating the residents of St. Marys, advising the municipality and researching issues of environmental importance to the community.
Heritage and Culture Advisory Committee
The Heritage and Culture Advisory Committee (also known as Heritage St. Marys) makes recommendations to Council about St. Marys’ built heritage and other heritage features.
The Planning Advisory Committee makes recommendations to Council on community planning matters, developments and policies, and provides guidance in areas related to land use planning.
The Recreation Advisory Committee advises Council and the residents of St. Marys on matters relating to recreation and leisure.

The St. Marys Public Library Board oversees the public library and Adult Learning Programs of Perth.
