Property Taxes

Property taxation is a key source of revenue for the Town of St. Marys. This revenue helps to fund many services, for example, fire, policing, infrastructure upgrades and recreational facilities and programs such as the Pyramid Recreation Centre and the St. Marys Public Library.

Property tax due dates

Property taxes are paid four times per year in St. Marys:

  • First installment - due the last business day of February
  • Second installment - due the last business day of May
  • Third installment - due the last business day of August
  • Fourth installment - due the last business day of October

Tax certificates

Tax certificates are available by a written request for a fee of $40 per roll number as per the most current assessment roll.


Notice for new home owners

Many properties in St. Marys use a PO box for mail delivery. If you recently purchased a home in St. Marys and would like to receive your property tax bill through the mail, we need your PO box number to ensure it reaches you. Please call the Finance Department at 519-284-2340, ext. 214 to provide your PO box number.


Notice for real estate agents

We require the property owner's consent to release information. To start the process, please fill out our Letter of Authority for Listing Agent form.
