St. Marys Public Library Offers Entertainment Beyond Books
The St. Marys Public Library is helping residents discover a different side of their library card, one that goes far beyond books. Through a wide variety of entertainment collections and Library Plus items, residents can borrow everything from movies and video games to sports equipment, outdoor adventure kits, and attraction passes.
A free library card provides access to entertainment and experiences for all ages. Patrons can borrow DVDs, television series, and video games, but they can also check out unique Library Plus items designed to encourage recreation, learning, wellness, and exploration.
"Many people are surprised by the variety of items they can borrow from the library," said Sarah Andrews, CEO of the St. Marys Public Library. "Whether you're planning a family movie night, trying a new hobby, getting active outdoors, or looking for a fun activity to enjoy with friends and family, the library offers opportunities to explore without the cost of buying equipment or admission."
The Library Plus collection includes items such as snowshoe kits, pickleball and tennis equipment, trekking poles, yoga kits, birdwatching kits, and crokinole boards. Residents can also borrow attraction passes for destinations including Ontario Parks, Grand River Parks, the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority, the Huron County Museum & Gaol, and the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
For those looking to learn something new or try specialized equipment before making a purchase, the collection also includes items such as LED projectors and screens, Yoto Players, cognitive kits, and other unique resources.
Library staff are available to help residents browse available items, place holds, and discover new ways to make the most of their library membership.
