Service disruption following Canada Post national strike
On September 25, 2025 Canada Post launched a national strike that will cause postal delays. During the national strike, mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered, and some post offices may be closed. Service guarantees are suspended for items currently within the postal network.
Please note the following service disruptions for residents of the Town of St. Marys.
Payment Options
Payment due dates for property taxes, water and wastewater bills, and parking tickets remain unchanged. Property owners and residents are responsible for submitting payments by the specified due date, and standard penalties will be applied to late payments. Not receiving a tax notice or physical bill in the mail does not remove the obligation to pay.
Alternate payment options include:
- Telephone/internet banking: Please contact your financial institution regarding this payment option. A 19-digit property roll number will be the account number.
- In-person: In-person payments can be made by cash, debit or cheque at Town Hall (175 Queen St. E) and the Municipal Operations Centre (408 James Street South) during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). A drop box is available at lower level of Town Hall and the front door of the Municipal Operations Centre for cheques only.
- Pre-authorized payments: Residents can pay taxes in 12 monthly or four quarterly installments (last business day of February, May, August and October). Taxes are deducted from bank accounts on the first banking day of the month. Please complete a Pre-Authorized Tax Payment Form to enroll in the pre-authorized payment program.
Residents can contact customer service Festival Hydro at customerservice@festivalhydro.com or 519-271-4700 (option 2) to subscribe to paperless billing for water and wastewater, and to register for pre-authorized payments.
