Located in southern Ontario, and tucked away from the bustle of the big city but close enough to visit, St. Marys is a short drive to both London and Stratford. Choose the scenic rural route and discover the unexpected in St. Marys, Ontario.
St. Marys was first settled in the early 1840s on the banks of the Thames River and Trout Creek. Here, the river water fell over a series of limestone ledges creating 'Little Falls', an early nickname for St. Marys. The falls provided power for the pioneer mills to make flour from grain grown in the surrounding landscape. The limestone was an early source of building materials for the community. St. Marys is now home to nearly 7,000 residents, elegant heritage buildings, an eclectic mix of downtown storefronts and vibrant community spirit.
