Town Services

The Town of St. Marys offers a full range of services to its residents, businesses and visitors. Council places a high priority on building a “complete and healthy community” and as a result provides a host of active and passive recreation opportunities. From swimming to skating, tennis to t-ball, hiking trails to picnics, St. Marys offers many activities to the young and the young at heart. We take a leading role in raising our children, keep our seniors active and safeguarding our community. As a separated Town, St. Marys’ complement of services is more complete than many municipalities in Ontario. Our team ensures that your garbage and recyclables are managed, basic services (water and waste water) are maintained and your public spaces kept clean.

The beautiful Thames River winds its way through 30 hectares of scenic trails, parkland and country roads, setting the stage for a truly memorable visit. Enjoy the small town experience of visiting our one-of-a kind cafés, antique shops and countryside inns. Explore the unique limestone architecture or refresh with a beverage at an old fashioned ice cream parlour. You can experience the flavour of the local heritage at the St. Marys Museum or Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, or take in one of the many festivals and events the town hosts each year.

Free guided walking trails are offered during the summer. Mid-November through December enjoy free horse-drawn wagon rides around Milt Dunnell Field to experience the magic of the winter holiday light display.

Town Hall

The historic Town Hall, built in 1891, is the heart of St. Marys’ municipal and administrative operations. This portion of the site offers resources related to St. Marys’ Mayor, Council and Sub Committees that help guide the Town’s operations. Information on the Clerks Office and Finance Department is also available as the lead for valuable information of municipal meeting agendas, minutes and reports, as well as, municipal Bylaws and budgets.

Accounts Payable is responsible for all disbursements and payments to suppliers of goods and services for the entire Municipality. Other related duties include management of the Goods & Services Tax (GST), the Provincial Sales Tax (PST), the provision of advice to the staff on issues related to GST, PST and other related issues.

Our mandate is to settle accounts in a timely manner according to payment terms.

Payment terms with the Corporation of the Town of St. Marys are net 30 days, unless otherwise negotiated.
