Town Services

The Town of St. Marys offers a full range of services to its residents, businesses and visitors. Council places a high priority on building a “complete and healthy community” and as a result provides a host of active and passive recreation opportunities. From swimming to skating, tennis to t-ball, hiking trails to picnics, St. Marys offers many activities to the young and the young at heart. We take a leading role in raising our children, keep our seniors active and safeguarding our community. As a separated Town, St. Marys’ compliment of services is more complete than many municipalities in Ontario. Out team ensures that your garbage and recyclables are managed, basic services (water and waste water) are maintained and your public spaces kept clean.

Town Hall

The historic Town Hall, built in 1891, is the heart of St. Marys’ municipal and administrative operations. This portion of the site offers resources related to St. Marys’ Mayor, Council and Sub Committees that help guide the Town’s operations. Information on the Clerks Office and Finance Department is also available as the lead for valuable information of municipal meeting agendas, minutes and reports, as well as, municipal Bylaws and budgets.

Shopping Services

What is the shopping service?

There are two different types of shopping services that are offered by Home Support Services, a Wednesday morning service and a personal service. Each service is provided in order to give seniors the opportunity to get out and complete errands if they need assistance to do so.

Wedneday morning shopping service

Every Wednesday morning volunteers pick clients up at their homes and take them to get their groceries at the local grocery stores in St. Marys.

What is the cost?

The cost for this service is $4.00

Personal Shopping Service

If a client would like more assistance with completing shopping errands, they may opt to have a volunteer accompany them on their in town shopping excursion providing assistance wherever necessary. Volunteers will assist clients with necessary errands such as grocery shopping, going to the post office, pharmacy etc.

What is the cost?

The cost for this service is $4.00 initially with an extra dollar charged for each stop the volunteer makes.

Who provides the shopping services?

The shopping services are provided with the assistance of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers use their own vehicles to pick clients up at their homes

What do I do if I would like the shopping service?

If you are interested in this service, please call us at 284-3272 a few days prior so we can arrange a volunteer to provide this service.

Why does Home Support offer shopping services?

This is just another program offered by Home Support Services to promote independent living for the seniors of the St. Marys and area community. By having assistance with important tasks such as shopping for groceries and other errands, individuals may be able to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
